Heroes of the Soviet Union – Natives of the Vileyka District
Azonchik Aleksandr Semyonovich(10.08.1908 – 08.02.1995) Born in the village of Yatskovichi, Myadel District. In 1939–1941 he worked in the NKVD bodies of Vileyka Oblast. From January 1942 – commander of a partisan sabotage group within the S.M. Budyonny detachment. From December 1943 – commander of the “Patriot” detachment of the S.M. Budyonny partisan brigade. On January 1, 1944, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. In 1944–1955 he was in Soviet work. He lived in the village of Kurenets, Vileyka District, where he is buried.
Volynets Andrei Ivanovich(19.01.1904 – 30.03.1965) Born in the village of Zheltki, Vileyka District. One of the organizers and leaders of the anti-fascist underground and partisan movement in Vileyshchina during the Great Patriotic War. From 1939 and until the beginning of the Great Patriotic War – director of a peat enterprise in his native village of Zheltki. From October 1943 commander of the partisan detachment “For Soviet Belarus”, from July 6, 1944 commander of the partisan brigade “For Soviet Belarus”. On August 15, 1944, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. After the liberation of Vileyshchina – chairman of the Vileyka city executive committee, deputy chairman of the Vileyka and Molodechno district executive committees, head of a department of the Molodechno oblast executive committee. Buried in the city of Molodechno. Streets in the cities of Vileyka and Molodechno are named after him.
Zubovich Konstantin Mikhailovich(21.12.1904 – 28.12.1944) Born in the village of Popovtsy, Vileyka District. From November 1944 he was at the front. He especially distinguished himself in battles on the territory of Hungary. On December 5, 1944, while crossing the Danube River, he was one of the first to swim across the river, destroyed an enemy machine-gun crew with grenades, seized the machine gun and covered Soviet soldiers with fire from it. On December 28, 1944, he participated in battles in the streets of Budapest, liberating the capital of Hungary from Nazi invaders. There he died and was buried. On March 24, 1945, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously). Streets in the city of Vileyka and in the agro-town of Naroch are named after Zubovich K.M.
Lavrinovich Vladimir Stepanovich(28.12.1913 – 31.01.1945) Born in the village of Porsa, Vileyka District. From August 1944 he served on the 2nd and 1st Belorussian Fronts, sergeant, machine gunner of the 338th Rifle Regiment of the 96th Rifle Division. He died in battle on January 31, 1945, in the area of the Shportinen station, East Prussia. On April 19, 1945, Lavrinovich V.S. was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously). He was reburied in the mass grave of Soviet soldiers in the city of Brenyova, Poland. The Hero is forever entered in the list of the military unit where he served. A street in the city of Vileyka is named after him.
Heroes of Socialist Labor– Natives of the Vileyka District
Kosyak Maria Ivanovna(01.07.1918 — 15.07.2006) Born in the village of Zaozerye, Vileyka District. From 1953 she headed a flax-growing team in the “Red Banner” collective farm of Vileyka District. Participant in the Great Patriotic War. Liaison of the partisan brigade named after L.M. Dovator. After the war she restored the destroyed collective farm economy. She continued to work as a team leader. Without leaving production, she completed three-year agronomic courses. The team of Maria Ivanovna Kosyak gathered a high harvest of fiber flax. On April 30, 1966, she was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. She was a delegate to the III All-Union Congress of Collective Farmers in Moscow. She was elected a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the BSSR of the 6th convocation.
Malinovsky Nikolai Nikodimovich(01.01.1921 – 24.01.2018) Born in the village of Zheltki, Vileyka District. During the Great Patriotic War he participated in the partisan movement. In 1948 he graduated from Minsk Medical Institute, and then residency. He worked as a surgeon in the city of Vileyka. In 1954 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences. In 1964 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, academician of the AMS of the USSR and RAMS, editor-in-chief of the journal “Surgery”. On December 31, 1980, he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. Laureate of two State Prizes of the USSR. Awarded two Orders of Lenin; orders: October Revolution, Red Banner of Labor, Badge of Honor, Friendship.
Mironovich Evgeny Fedorovich(07.11.1917 – 25.01.1980) Born in the urban settlement of Smilovichi, Cherven District. Participant in the Soviet-Finnish and Great Patriotic Wars. Commander of the partisan detachment named after Voroshilov of the brigade named after M.V. Frunze of Vileyka Oblast. From 1944 director of a distillery in the village of Lyuban, Vileyka District, from 1961 – director of the “Lyuban” state farm named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR. In 1967 he was awarded the title Honored Agronomist of the BSSR. In 1974-1979 – deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. On December 13, 1972, he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. Awarded three Orders of Lenin, orders: October Revolution, Red Banner and many medals. In the agro-town of Lyuban, a memorial sign was installed in his honor.
Poklikukho Vera Filippovna(20.05.1920-1999) Born in the village of Leonovichi, Vileyka District. Maiden name Kaptyug. From 1948 she worked as a calf-herd on the “30 Years of the BSSR” collective farm, in 1950-75 – on the state farm named after Prytytsky of Molodechno District. On April 8, 1971, she was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. The title of Hero of Socialist Labor was awarded for successes in the development of agricultural production and fulfillment of the tasks of the 8th five-year plan for the sale of livestock products to the state.
